Jennifer Barbieri is a licensed clinical social worker and a trauma resolution specialist with over 20 years experience. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Board for Clinical Hypnotherapists. A published author and out-of-the-box thinker, Jennifer recently launched her new book, URGES, Urge Reduction by Growing Ego Strength. She speaks, teaches and maintains a private practice.
Tangi Carter earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Mississippi College School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Southern Mississippi.
She is a former Federal and State Public Defender and previously worked for a DUI defense firm in Northwest Florida. Previously, Tangi was a staff attorney and court administrator for Judge Prentiss G. Harrell for almost 3 years and worked closely with his Drug Court. She has also previously clerked in Federal and State Courts. Tangi currently handles federal and state criminal cases throughout Mississippi and Louisiana.
Tangi is an active member of several legal organizations, such as the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the South Central Mississippi Bar Association, and the National College of DUI Defense Lawyers. Tangi was recently elected to be the Alumni President for Mississippi College School of Law and is the former President of the Society of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Tangi Carter is also a member of the Criminal Justice Act (“CJA”) Panel and currently serves as the Parent Representative for Lamar County Youth Court.
Tangi previously taught Business Law at William Carey University and taught in the Legal Studies Department at Pensacola Jr. College for five years. She currently teaches Criminal Evidence at the University of Southern Mississippi (Gulf Coast Campus).
Tangi is married to Mark Pryor, currently completing a doctorate in Ancient Philosophy from Tulane University. In her spare time, Tangi also enjoys reading, writing, hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends and family.
Sharon Register is a highly successful Realtor with over 30 years of experience. But she will be quick to explain that representing families with their real estate needs is merely an overflow of her ministry for Christ. She is married to her high school sweetheart and best friend, Dr. Dean Register, pastor of Crosspoint Community Church. She is a devoted mother of Heather Register Sachs and Wes Register and an enthusiastic grandmother to seven active grandchildren who affectionately call her “Honey."
She holds a B. A. degree in Business Administration and Finance from William Carey University and has served on numerous committees for the Hattiesburg Area Association of Realtors. Most importantly, she is a radiant and engaging communicator of Biblical truth and a bright spiritual light throughout the Pine Belt and south Mississippi. She passionately encourages women of all ages to live intentionally and faithfully for Jesus.
Melissa (“Missye”) Selman Martin serves as Deputy General Counsel of the Mississippi Bar. Missye evaluates, investigates and prosecutes disciplinary matters and other litigated cases. In addition, Missye works with the Ethics Committee in developing opinions interpreting the Mississippi Rules of Professional Conduct and recommending changes to those rules. She also serves as the liaison between the Office of General Counsel and the Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Missye focused her private practice on civil litigation, commercial real estate transactions and appeal work. She is licensed in the state and federal courts of Mississippi and Tennessee, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She is an honor graduate of the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law.
Lynda Harrison is a Holistic Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder/owner of Legacy Health Center in beautiful downtown Hattiesburg, MS. She has practiced in a variety of practices from General Family Practice to Pediatrics to Health and Wellness and Holistic Medicine. Lynda has a passion for helping people get their lives back by finding the root causes of health issues instead of merely treating symptoms. She enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling with her family. Lynda and her husband Kevin, the love of her life, have been married for two years and live in Hattiesburg. She has two beautiful daughters, Anna Kathryn Colbert, 22 and Leah Grace Colbert almost 20 who both live in Oxford, MS.
Shakita Taylor is a sex education advocate, author, and attorney. She educates college and university populations about sexual consent, dating violence, and sexual assault in a way that changes how students think, speak and respond to sexual assault. Shakita is the founder of Shame Undone Life which is a company that seeks to change the way sexual consent is taught in an effort to change American rape culture.
In 2016, Shakita is the author of Broken, Bound, and Naked: Journey To Healing, which chronicles her experience as a rape survivor.
Shakita attended undergraduate school at Rust College where she received a bachelor’s of Arts degree in English. After obtaining her bachelor's, she attended law school at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson and graduated in 2009. Shakita opened her own law practice in 2013. The firm is located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and specializes in Family Law Matters. In 2015, Shakita was appointed as the public defender for the City of Hattiesburg. Shakita is married to Terrence Taylor and the mother of three children.
