My name is Camila Cardoso and this semester I have been given the opportunity to intern and work alongside Tangi Carter and her team. Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in criminal justice and minoring in psychology. I have always been passionate about psychology and the study of people, but as I entered college I realized that I was more drawn to the study of criminal justice and how societal forces affect individuals and their path to committing crime. I am a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority on campus and I am currently serving as the Panhellenic Vice President of Risk Management.
Outside of school and work, I love spending time with friends, participating in different fun runs, practicing yoga, playing soccer, and hanging out with my adorable dog Bruce. I enjoy music festivals and the beach. My favorite band is Mumford and Sons and my favorite beach that I have been to is on the small Island of Palomino outside of Puerto Rico. I hope to one day travel different parts of the world. My dream trip would be to go to Greece and stay somewhere close to the water.
Interning for Tangi Carter Law Office has been eye-opening. As an intern, it has been my job to create legal documents, conduct legal research, and learn hands-on about the civil and federal courts and the laws associated with them. Hearing the stories and legal situations of our clients was incredibly moving. Working with Tangi Carter also has helped me better my research, communication, listening, and note taking, skills that I will put to use in future jobs.
I am thankful for the relationships I have built with members of this team. With their help, I have grown as a student and a professional. If you are a student or individual interested in an internship with an organization that will lead you in the right path, Tangi Carter Law Office is the place to apply.
